ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS SUPERVISOR
We currently have a position available for our in-house Electrical Systems Supervisor. This is a “working” supervisor’s position, meaning that some time will be spent in planning sessions with our customers and other supervisors, some time will be spent supervising up to 4 technicians, and some will also be left for hands-on work in the electrical systems department. People skills, computer skills, experience and dedication are mandatory. A typical day would involve an amp draw calculation for a new construction project, design of an electrical panel, wiring inside a flybridge console, and conclude with a meeting with the yacht owner to discuss marine electronics. It is a very exciting and challenging position that offers the right person a chance to join this group of dedicated people. If you feel you have the qualifications, whether you have marine experience or not, we would like to speak with you.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN
Our in-house electrical department is looking for a bright, energetic electrician that is interested in work of the highest quality. A typical day at Bayliss Boatworks would involve working on one or sometimes multiple vessels ranging from 50′-90′. All of our new construction and yard projects are built and serviced to the highest standards, so a superior work ethic and attention to detail are mandatory. The qualified applicant will be involved with wire runs for yacht electrical systems, mechanical wiring systems, troubleshooting, marine electronics installation and audio/visual systems installation. Marine experience is preferred but good electrical background and experience could be acceptable for the right candidate. Ability to understand and interpret schematic drawings and computer skills are important. This is a vibrant and exciting workplace and you will be surrounded by a group of people that strive for perfection.
MECHANICAL SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN
Our in-house mechanical systems department has room for a dedicated technician. Good mechanical aptitude and background will be necessary as you will be servicing and installing hydraulic steering systems, refrigeration systems, HVAC systems, freshwater systems and running gear such as shafts and propellers. Our new construction and service yard projects involve the highest standards of quality so it will take a dedicated person with a good work ethic and attention to detail. Our mechanical department consists of just 4 people so you will be working with a close-knit team on some of the best boats being built today. These boats travel all of the world, and our captains and crew depend on our good execution of systems for trouble-free operation. If you have the work ethic and skill set, please contact us.
Most of our carpentry crew has come from some other vocation before they began their career in boat building. Whether you have shaped a surfboard, built an intricate curved staircase or executed precise inlays in cabinetry, chances are you could be someone that would be a good fit for Bayliss Boatworks. Boat carpentry experience, although helpful, is not mandatory. More important is general woodworking experience and dedication to the quality of the finished product. A normal day may involve work in building a flybridge console, fitting boards for a teak toe rail, installing a teak deck or building a cabin for an 80′ sportfish boat. If this is of interest to you and you have the experience and dedication that we are looking for, let’s talk.
If you meet the above criteria we would be very interested in speaking with you.
